Climate Science made in Aberystwyth

The BBC online published this article on Dr Alun Hubbard’s recent research. Dr Hubbard is a glaciologist at Aberystwyth University and just returned from studying the Greenland ice sheet. His findings include that the ice melting accelerated compared to 2009 – the amount of melt water has indeed doubled – and that it can now be said to directly contribute to sea level rise. However, in contrast to more alarmist findings, he “maintains it would be at least 100 to 1,000 years before it “potentially passes any point of no return leading to any widespread collapse”.
It might be interesting to hear more from him as part of one of our research group meetings.
