Film screening: Gasland

The next event of the Environmental Politics Research Group is on Wednesday the 6th of March, 5pm in the Steve Critcher Room (International Politics building). This event is co-hosted with the newly revived Aberystwyth Young Greens, an environmental group for AU undergraduates.

Gasland explores the effects of Hydraulic Fracturing or “Fracking” on communities in the USA. The moratorium on fracking has now been lifted in the UK and preparations are underway to begin extraction of shale gas in sites acres the UK, including in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Screening is open to all, with the opportunity for a short discussion afterwards.

You can find out more about this and other events by following Hannah (@hanshare), Katherina (@kathone) and Katherine (@aberkataber), posting under the hashtags: #envpolrg and #AberYoungGreens.
